Cruise Restart Policies as of August 16, 2021

Important Information

Health and safety measures, ports of call and offerings may change at any time without notice. Upon reopening, certain onboard venues, experiences and other offerings will be modified or unavailable, will have limited capacity and will be subject to limited availability, advance reservations or even closure. Disney Cruise Lines reserves the right to cancel any reservations or purchases. Subject to government approval.

Health Acknowledgement

Please make sure that you have reviewed and follow any advisories or restrictions that may be in place for your travel destinations. Guests who are or may be at increased risk of severe illness due to contracting COVID-19 should consult with their health care provider before sailing.

By boarding a Disney Cruise Line ship, you are confirming that you and all persons in your party have not been in close contact with someone confirmed or suspected of COVID-19 within the last 14 days and are not experiencing any of the following symptoms of COVID-19 identified by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention including:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

You must report to Disney Cruise Line if you experience any COVID-19 symptoms while onboard. Guests who cannot confirm all of the above criteria must not board the ship. If at any point during their cruise a Guest does not meet all of the above criteria, they—and their traveling party and close contacts—will be required to isolate. By boarding a Disney Cruise Line ship, you acknowledge that you understand and will abide by the above health and safety requirements.

Will I need to be vaccinated?

Disney Cruise Line strongly encourages all eligible Guests to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before sailing. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) considers people to be fully vaccinated 14 days after the final dose has been administered. Approved vaccines include those produced by Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca. In accordance with guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Guests who have received one single dose of a vector vaccine (e.g. AstraZeneca) and one single dose of a mRNA vaccine (e.g. Pfizer, Moderna) will not be considered fully vaccinated. Guests who have received one dose of Moderna and one dose of Pfizer are considered fully vaccinated, per CDC guidelines. Guests who are fully vaccinated may choose to provide proof of vaccination in order to be exempt from pre-trip, Embarkation Day and Debarkation Day testing requirements (unless arriving from outside the United States) and travel insurance requirements. Keep in mind, fully vaccinated Guests who have traveled outside the United States within five days prior to sailing must undergo a PCR COVID-19 test at the terminal, paid for by Disney Cruise Line. Additionally, travel insurance is not required for vaccinated Guests arriving from outside the United States on sailings originating in the United States.

Will I need to wear a mask onboard?

All Guests (ages 2 and up, including those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19) are required to wear appropriate face coverings indoors, except when in their staterooms or actively eating or drinking (while stationary and maintaining an appropriate physical distance). Face coverings are not required for Guests outdoors while on board the ship and at designated locations on Disney Castaway Cay. Face coverings may be required in ports of call based on local government requirements.

All face coverings should fully cover an individual’s nose and mouth and allow the Guest to remain hands-free; fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face; be secured with ties or ear loops; and be made of 2 layers of breathable material, either disposable or reusable, that is not elastic in nature, such as spandex and elastane. At this time based on guidance from health authorities, neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas and face coverings containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind are not acceptable face coverings. Costume masks are not considered appropriate and are prohibited from being worn.

Learn about the COVID-19 tests that are required for Guests before leaving home and at the terminal.

  • Pre-Trip COVID-19 Testing: All Guests (adults and children, regardless of age) must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test (paid for at the Guest’s expense) taken between 5 days and 24 hours prior to the sail date. This is the first of 2 COVID-19 PCR tests required to set sail. The test should be a lab-based PCR test, not a rapid test. Disney Cruise Line has secured a special rate of $98.33 per PCR test (which includes a 3.5% processing fee) through our third-party vendor, Inspire Diagnostics. Guests may also obtain their PCR test from any independent testing supplier. To submit your testing results or to order a testing kit, visit the Safe Passage website by Inspire Diagnostics. Guests who are fully vaccinated may choose to provide proof of vaccination instead of undergoing COVID19 pre-trip testing.
  • Embarkation COVID-19 Testing: All Guests (adults and children, regardless of age) are required to undergo a PCR COVID-19 test administered by Inspire Diagnostics at the terminal prior to boarding. This is the second of 2 COVID-19 PCR tests required to set sail. Guests with positive COVID-19 test results, as well as those in their travel party, will be denied boarding. The $65 test fee will be charged to the folio of all Guests 12 years and older. Guests under 12 years of age will be tested at no charge. Disney Cruise Line acts as the paying agent for Inspire Diagnostics and will remit the entire cost of the COVID-19 test to Inspire Diagnostics. Guests who are fully vaccinated may choose to provide proof of vaccination instead of undergoing COVID-19 Embarkation Day testing. Fully vaccinated Guests who have traveled outside the United States within five days prior to sailing must undergo a PCR COVID-19 test at the terminal, paid for by Disney Cruise Line.
  • Debarkation Day COVID-19 Testing: All Guests (adults and children, regardless of age) on 5-night and longer sailings are required to undergo a PCR COVID-19 test administered by Inspire Diagnostics on the ship prior to debarking. A $65 test fee will be charged to the folio of all Guests 12 years and older. Guests under 12 years of age will be tested at no charge. However, Guests booked on 5-night and longer sailings who choose to provide proof of vaccination will not be required to take a COVID-19 test upon debarkation.
