"...finding a travel site for your resorts, cruises, and tours feels a lot like the soft drink choices inside the large, red, indecision machine that is the internet."
Have you ever been to a restaurant with one of those large, red, drink dispensers? There is a touch screen on the front which allows you to select an infinite amount of drinks. It appears to be a great deal. Until your indecisiveness kicks in.
Do you want Sprite or Pepsi? Or does Vitamin Water sound better (Because it's healthier, right?). No, you definitely "Wanta Fanta". Do you go with the original Orange, or venture to the wild side and try the Fruit Punch?
After being reminded by your spouse that you always do this, and you’re never quite as satisfied as you are with Cherry Dr. Pepper, you sit down to wait for your Pad Thai.
The Pad Thai is the only decision you are secure about from the beginning. Quick shout out to how great Pad Thai is.
I don't know about you, but finding a travel site for your resorts, cruises, and tours feels a lot like the soft drink choices inside the large, red, indecision machine that is the internet.
No matter where you book your vacation, you will always question if you booked from the right website. What if your plans change? What if you have a quick question about the check-in process? Will this company know what nonrev travel is and the specific needs you have?
Well if you booked with another online company, you’re put through the phone gauntlet navigating the automated voice, trying not to press the wrong option with your cheek.
When you book with PERX, you get your travel agent’s extension and email for fast and personal service. This person is there to answer any of our airline employee specific questions. Getting an actual human to talk to for customer service is refreshing, especially when it's travel related.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Michelle, an agent with PERX for 19 years. She was enthusiastic about her career and explained how she feels like a family member of her repeat customers. I don't know about you, but that type of customer service can be hard to find.
I asked her some questions about the booking process and how PERX differs from the sites Google usually recommends.
Austin: "What type of discounts can someone expect for cruises?"
Michelle: "about 40% for Disney, 20-30% for Alaska and Caribbean, and 50% or more for luxury river cruises"
Austin:"Can people put a deposit down?"
Michelle: "It depends on how close your vacation is. A deposit can be placed if your vacation is 90 days or further out."
Austin:"Other than Bump Protection, what else makes PERX so unique?"
Michelle: "We offer themed charter cruises as well for different music genres like country, blues, rock, and disco; we even had a Comicon cruise!"
Austin: “What differentiates you from your competition?"
Michelle: "Our prices are hard to beat and our customer service is elite. We all love to help our customers find the best vacation experience for them and their family. I absolutely love when we can do such a great job, that people come back for their next trip."
As airline employees, we are a small community with a specific niche way of traveling. The question really is, why wouldn't you book with a company that bases their whole business model around your needs?
I recommend calling PERX today for more in-depth information about your next vacation. I know you're thinking about how great 30% off an Alaska cruise will be next summer. Don't lie to me.
While you can keep debating which drink to get, why not just get the Dr. Pepper and book with PERX?
