Windstar Cruises Embarkation Changes and Sailing Date Change Policy

UpdatedFebruary 24, 2021 - Windstar are carefully assessing multiple factors impacting the timing to resume operations. With the information we have today on COVID transmission rates, travel restrictions and government regulations, many uncertainties remain. They have made the decision to postpone the resumption of operations from May to June 2021. They will re-start cruise operations in a phased manner with the initial cruises having reduced guest occupancy, some modified itineraries, and enhanced health and safety protocols.

New timeline for resumption of operations:

Wind Spirit – June 10, 2021 – Tahiti

Star Breeze – June 19, 2021 – Caribbean

Wind Star – June 19, 2021 – Mediterranean

Wind Surf – June 29, 2021 – Mediterranean

Star Legend – July 4, 2021 – Mediterranean

Star Pride – July 14, 2021 – Northern Europe/Iceland

In connection with this cancellation, they are offering a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) valued at 125% of monies paid to Windstar Cruises. You will have 24 months from the issue date of the FCC to sail with their FCC. Given the volume of cancellations, please allow up to four weeks to receive FCC certificates. You may request a cash refund once the FCC certificate is received. Windstar will deactivate the FCC valued at 125% and process the refund to the original form(s) of payment at 100% of the monies paid to Windstar Cruises. You will have 24 months from the issue date of the FCC to request the refund.

In preparations to return to sailing, they continue to review and update our health and safety practices including enhanced sanitation protocols, health screenings, additional medical staff on board, flexible indoor and outdoor dining, and crew training. The new Beyond Ordinary Care program is a multi-layered strategy with key hospital-grade elements: HEPA filters and UV-C ultraviolet germicidal irradiation to filter and disinfect circulated air, plus electrostatic sprayers to sanitize all surfaces throughout our yachts.

The health and well-being of guests, crew, land-based employees and people in the communities they visit is always a top priority. Windstar continues to monitor local regulations for all countries and ports they visit and as they approach sailing dates, they will notify guests of any local requirements. They have taken extraordinary measures to safely operate their yachts for you and crewmembers and will continue to do so once we resume operations.

Windstar looks forward to a safe return to travel and cruising in 2021.
